THE curious incident of

         THE dog in the nighT-time

Projection Design for Theater Adaptation, 2021.

HOW do you make one of the MOST technical plays of the century on a tiny budget?

Three projection boards were used as screens to project all designs on. These boards were dynamic and moveable, able to be used independently as seen in the subway scene or come together to create a larger display like when Christopher is surrounded all on sides by his favorite thing: outerspace.

“The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time” premiered in 2012 and was immediately praised for its immersive use of projection design. The setups in Broadway and the West End required 6+ professional grade projectors, high tech control desks, and software that live tracked the actors as they traversed the stage.

My job was to craft an equally immersive experience while staying within our budget and tailoring designs to our much smaller and lower tech theater.
